I was reading some blogs last week and came across First Lines Friday on What Em’s Reading by EmilyJane1995,find the post here. The post includes a the first sentence, of a book and and what it means to the blogger.

So here we go:-

The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkin

“In a hole in the ground lived a hobbit”

I have read the hobbit and this line is so simple all it does is say that, the hobbit is a alive and where it lives.it does not describe what it looks like or even anything about the story, but it draws you into the story.

So what are you favourite first lines from a book either comment bellow or start doing your own First Line Friday post and link back to This blog and Emmajane1995’s blog.
