Three Things About Me

I have lived in Nottinghamshire all my life, (not in the same town), except when I went to University.

If Scotland voted for Independence in the  referendum in 2014, I would have had the option to become Scottish

The lead singer Gerry form 60’s Liverpool band Gerry and the Pacemakers, directed me to the toilet on Skegness pier the summer before it was damaged in a storm.

My Questions from Chiara

  1. What book/series do you wish could be turned into a tv series/movie?

If I had been asked this question a few years ago I would have said The Wheel of Time, by Robert Jordan, but as this is being made into a series at the moment by Amazon. This means I am having to choose another one, so I will say The Stalingrad books by Vasiley Grosman, I have just read Stalingrad the first book from Netgalley for a fair and honest review, and hope to read the second and last Life and Fate, which is about World War II from the Russian point of view, it is called the Red War and Peace, there is a series of the second book on Amazon in Russian but it is subtitled. I think If people saw this it would give the west more of an idea what the Soviet union went through in the war.

  1. If you could only read one series for the rest of your life what would it be?

I am going to go for the Wheel Of Time by Robert Jordan with 14 books plus a sequel there are plenty of books to read.

  1. What’s your favourite place to read?

I have two the first is on a sofa in the living room, hopefully on the side with a lamp unless the cat gets their first. The second Is something I can not do at the moment due to the lock down in the UK and that is in the Costa, near Trent Bridge cricket ground, drinking Earl Gray tea and a cake.

  1. Where would your favourite place to visit from a book? (Fictional or real)

I am going to slightly cheat here and sayTrent Bridge cricket ground, (it is in Wisden every year), one of the oldest test grounds in the world still being used, all though due to covid 19 I don’t know when I will be able to go again.

  1. What’s your dream car? (new or old, classic, vintage, American, British choices are yours)

As I can not drive, (never got round to it), I decided to choose a race car, as I could only drive it legally on a track any way. So I am going for the formula Maclaren F1 car MP4/4 from 1988 driven by Alan Prost and the late great Ayrton Senna, which one and claimed pole 15 out of the then 16 races.
