This is a post, that I do every Friday, which I give you the first line of a book, and explain what I like about the line and what, it means something to me.
So here we go:-
Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
“The house on a slight rise just on the edge of the villiage.”
I decided to do The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, today for First Line Friday as Monday the 25th of may is towel day, which started in 2001 as a tribute to the writer, who died on the 11th may 2001, as the date is 14 days after his death. The towel was chosen as a tribute to the Douglas Adams as, it can be of great use to the hitch hiker, from being used as a sail, something to lay on while on a beach and if it is still clean used as a sail.
I do not remember listening to the the show when it aired on the BBC radio in 1978, as i was to young, however I do remember watching the TV show and listening to the radio version much later. I have listened to it more recently as I have now got it on audio as well as the books and It still stands up 42 years Later.
So what are do want from a first line, and what are some of your favourite ones lines. Either comment below or start your own First Line Friday post.
